What Doesn’t Change?

What is alive is not the same.

Are waves the same? They are alive. Are trees the same? They are alive. Animals? Alive.

And what about people? Are they the same or alive?

Who is alive?

A river does not repeat itself. Time does not repeat itself. Nor life. Nor death.

It is. It cannot be the same. It is one.

What is it?

Is it the universe? Is it God?

And who asks and who does not? The one who knows nothing or the one who knows more?

What is experience? Poverty or wealth? Misfortune or love?

What is a star? A stone or light?

Enough. There is only silence, darkness, and emptiness.

It neither begins nor ends. It changes.

Everything changes. Even nothing changes. Even change changes. That does not change.
